London based Turkish designer, Bora Aksu invited Madame Soho backstage this morning to delve inside his world and observe the atmosphere ahead of his SS16 show. Amidst the usual preliminary chaos, we weaved our way through the crowd and mingled with the designer’s small army of make-up artists, hairdressers, stylists and models as they prepared to take to the runway.
And the show was alluring. Beginning with a subtle blend of white and toned down pinks, the runway soon flowered into a full range of dazzling colours. Outfits with flashes of yellow complimented orange while burgandy intermingled with red, all in Aksu’s signature style, and were emphasised by touches of lace. Aksu’s work is romantic and elegant with a dark twist.
